In today’s world we are sometimes forced to become what OTHER people want us to become, not what YOU want to do. We start to not act like ourselves, but how we are supposed to act. People sometimes think they know what you want for some reason, but how do they know what you really want? Only you can pick the “road” to your future, not anyone else. Having a rebellious side of you isn’t bad, it is actually sometimes needed. If you don’t like something about the world, do something about it. Like what Mahatma Ghandi said, “Be the CHANGE you want to see in the WORLD.” Many of us have our opinions , but do nothing about them. Take A.C.T.I.O.N for what you believe in. If someone doesn’t agree with it, then that’s their opinon. Do what YOU think is right. Many parents don’t take their children seriously because they supposedly aren’t good people. They are right on one thing, we don’t act our best. You have to think of it like this,”Are we ALL good people?….Yes….But do we always ACT like good people?(Father Greg) Remember YOU make the desicions, you just have to hope they are the right ones.

In our society today, people don’t care what is going on in the world, only what is going on in theirs. We should to come to realize it is just not our world, it is everyone’s. We have to work together to make it better, it cannot be just one person. We can all contribute if only once in a while, we all do some kind of… “Random Act of Kindness.” It may not seem like a lot, but there are 6 billion people in the world, if merely half of that number shows an act of kindness, there will be some kind of change.
What I do almost everyday, is try and to do a random good deeds, not for a prize, but so I can have respect for myself. By doing this I know I am doing my part to contribute to the community. The acts I do vary such as, collecting plastic bottles from the parks I go to, picking up trash at my school, even helping my brother understand his work. What I have found out about trying to help the world is… You try and fail, you try and fail, but you really only fail when you stop trying.

Recently, my blog has gotten much attention from people, and has become very popular in my class. My teacher noticed the attention my blog was getting so he chose 3 students as B.O.M (Blog Of the Month) Nominees. Fortunately I was one of the 3 students chosen. It is a great honor to know that other people appreciate what I write about. I will try to continue to say what is on my mind in the form of writing. There is many events that are happening, and going to happen in the future. I’m sure there will be many more stories with my name on it. Hopefully, I can remember what I did before, so that I can keep on doing it again.

Taking place in Africa, one year from now, is the 2010 FIFA WorldCup. It takes place from June 11 , 2010 – July 11 , 2010. This is a tournament of soccer (football) where qualifying countries compete, such as France, Italy, and U.S.A.. This World Cup will be the 19th one in history. In 2006 Italy were the victors, and were given the glory and tile as champions of the World. It is a great honor and adventure for a country to bring home that gold trophy.
Out of all the prizes, the one the winning country loves most is the gift of ”Respect”. You may think that this tounament is just some “thing” that only is there for athletes, and only about playing soccer, but it is not. This ingenious creation of the tournament is, believe it or not, made for the countries to forget about ”War”, ”Turmoil”, “Economic Debt” and just enjoy their country’s team try and succeed, maybe if for just a short amount of time. It is made so that for a little bit of time, the World comes together as one, and just enjoy the game. And maybe by a slim chance, the countries that are fighting, may just turn into… “Friends”.

On January 20th, around 5:00 am (Pacific Time), America had a new president… Barrack Obama. He has been inspiring people with the verb “change”. Of course at the very breath of that word America immediately listens. The U.S. has been fighting a war, and is in Economic Turmoil. So the people have wanted change. Therefore people think that’s why a lot of voters picked Obama. In the words of Mr. Parent “people needed to start over, Obama represented peoples willingness to do things over and do them right. Obama represents the changes in America that he has been preaching all along.
What I admire about Obama, is his way of knowing that not just one man can fix everything our country is facing. He knows that we need to stand together if we want anything to change. For that reason, I personally think Obama is going to bring the so called change, not only as a president of color, but as our problem solver. But I do wonder if many people voted for him because he is a person of color. Regardless of why, It all adds up to us. Can we all be brave enough to stand as one people united? After all, we can’t change the world unless we change ourselves. God Bless America! (BELOW IS A LINK TO THE VIDEO OF PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA’S INAUGURATION CELEBRATION SPEECH.)

As you’ve probably been hearing on the news, Gaza and Israel are in a war. Both nations house Jewish and Muslim occupants, and both have a history of fighting. For the last few days both nations have been bombing each other to a pulp. The cause for this is because of a simple rumor. Israel thought that Gaza was building weapons (bombs) right under the government’s noses, some in their community schools. Israel thought Gaza was going to use the bombs against them. So before Gaza hit them, Israel fired their own missiles. Israel and Gaza are located right next to each other. This means they are in constant contact. Which means sooner or later they are going to have a disagreement. That disagreement led to this war.
After the missiles landed on Gaza, Israel sent a fleet of troops to give them a taste of what they can do. As Israeli troops stormed the edges of Gaza City, the death toll immediately started at 500. The U.N. (United Nations) knew that it was goin to get out of hand. So they “interfered” as Israel said. The U.N is in charge of bringing the two fighting nations together and make up a “compromise”, or an agreement in which both sides neither win or lose. So when the U.N. (United Nations) tried to create peace, Israel turned their missiles on them. Who knows what will happen next. God help them.

In my life right now, what I am most passionate about, is playing sports. I don’t know what I would do, or look like without sports. I think I would be 30lbs heavier. I wouldn’t have that many friends either without sports. I play Basketball, Soccer and Baseball. During my experience on sports teams I’ve made some great friends. The thing about playing sports is that you’re are having so much fun, you don’t even know you;re exercising.
But sports also teaches Sportsmanship. Sportsmanship is an attribute you will use throughout your life. It shows you that if you don’t get something you want, it’s OK. In the future I don’t see myself not playing sport. It’s a great thing to do, and you can learn life lessons through it. I can’t get enough of it. It’s GREAT.
